History of BU Farming
After the Second World War, with the nationalisation of smaller and bigger family estates and castles, as well as their voluntary or forced joining into agrarian working co-operative societies, and the later disintegration of the said, followed by the renaming of the new agricultural co-operative societies, a base was formed for the creation of the Kutjevo combine in 1963. Larger arable fields were formed after the purchase, trade, land management and reparcelling, which were then further cultivated by digging canals, clearing lands, draining and forming paths.
The state returned one part of the previously taken fields to their rightful owners after the Homeland War of the early 1990s, while the rest was either sold to private estates or given to Kutjevo d.d. concession. Today, Kutjevo d.d. has at its disposal 5242 ha of top-quality fields intended for crop production.
